About
Our mission is to support those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
The Worcester EMS Relief Association (WEMSRA) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization based in Worcester, MA. We have several purposes, including assisting the UMass Memorial EMS department and its members during times of need, as well as funding charitable interests in the Worcester area.
EMS professionals face high-stress situations daily. When they’re the ones who need help—whether due to illness, injury, or loss—WEMSRA steps in to support them and their families. Our mission is grounded in compassion, respect, and the belief that no first responder should face hardship alone. Beyond that, we’re proud to continually support numerous other charitable causes in the area.
You can find our contributions at many athletic events, disease fundraisers, educational benefits, and more, and we’re always sure to support those activities our in which our members participate.
Our Story
The Worcester EMS Relief Association was founded decades ago by members of Worcester EMS who noticed they were better off by having a formal group to lean on when needed. Over the years, WEMSRA has transformed from a simple employee assistance organization to a full-fledged charity supporting many causes in the Worcester area.
We have an important mission: support EMS and those who have the tough job of being EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and every other integral role in our industry. We can’t do it without your help, and we truly, truly appreciate your support.
